Trading the Internet for a Typewriter.
Switching Digital Noise for Analogue.
For the next month, I’m stepping away from the digital world to see what life looks like without the constant hum of a screen.
Instagram is deleted, Facebook is deactivated, and my phone is officially being relegated to "emergency only" status.
All of us have become so used to the 24/7 dopamine loop that I’ve started to wonder what my actual thoughts sound like when they aren’t being interrupted by a notification.
The Plan: Back to Basics.
Instead of scrolling, I’m shifting my focus to two things that require the kind of presence a smartphone usually steals: writing and painting.
The Tools: No tablets, no apps, no "undo" buttons.
I’m dusting off my analogue typewriter.
There’s something about the physical resistance of the keys and the finality of ink on paper that feels necessary right now.
The Goal: I want to trade blue light for natural light.
I want to see how my focus changes when I’m not subconsciously chasing the next "like" or headline.
"I'm looking for the clarity that comes when you stop reacting to the noise and start listening to the silence."
See You on the Other Side.
This isn't a permanent goodbye, but it is a much-needed reset.
I’m curious to see what fills the space once the digital clutter is cleared out.
Maybe I’ll have a stack of typed pages and a few stained canvases to show for it; maybe I’ll just have a clearer head.
Either way, I’ll be offline until next month.
Clear Skies
Mark.
