Today's hot solar image......

At the moment it's too hot to write up a blog post.

I think my brain has finally melted with all this glorious heat we've been having.... :0)

Long may the heatwave continue.....

I'll just let today's solar images do all the talking for me...

Clear Sunny Skies

We too have been having sweltering heat all last we with high humidity and temperatures in the 90's. It was just too hot to do solar but I did get my fair share of lunar observing and iPhone imaging. Enjoy you solar images and hope the observatory is working out well for you.

Thanks Mike....

I've been hearing that the NY area has been having a sweltering heatwave from a friend Helen talks to, also in NY....

Solar observing is certainly a challenge... if it was any hotter in Pembrokeshire I would be giving observing a miss as well... the observatory is like an oven somedays.... to cool it down the observatory door and side windows are open all day, which makes a big difference...

I've been looking in on the BAA FaceBook page a few times......You've captured some excellent iMoon images...

For most of July the waxing Moon has been hidden behind trees at the end of our garden.... though I should be able grab a few images/observes of the waning Moon through strategically place gaps in the hedge.....

The Full Mackerel Moon will be upon us on Monday,  nearby I can hear a dog practicing its lunar howling! Up above, the slow moving clouds...
